Ich bin Diplom-Physiker und als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter und zertifizierter Medizinphysik-Experte (MPE) für Röntgendiagnostik an der Klinik für Radiologie und Neuroradiologie des UKSH sowie an der CAU Kiel tätig – mit Schwerpunkten in biomedizinischer Bildgebung, Knochen- und Osteoporoseforschung, Micro-CT und KI. Privat begeistere ich mich für Softwareentwicklung, Künstliche Intelligenz und Bildverarbeitung.
Welcome to my personal page. I am a physicist (Dipl.-Phys.) working as a researcher and certified Medical Physics Expert (MPE) for X-ray diagnostics at the Department of Radiology and Neuroradiology at UKSH and at Kiel University (CAU), focusing on biomedical imaging, bone and osteoporosis research, micro-CT, and AI. Privately, I am passionate about software development, artificial intelligence, and image processing.

Ich erforsche mit hochauflösender Bildgebung die Mikrostruktur des Knochens – von der Micro-CT bis zur klinischen Osteoporose-Diagnostik. Am MOIN CC (Medical Imaging Innovation Node) bin ich für die IT verantwortlich und leitender Wissenschaftler für Micro-Computertomographie.
I study bone microstructure using high-resolution imaging – from micro-CT to clinical osteoporosis diagnostics. At MOIN CC (Medical Imaging Innovation Node), I am responsible for IT and lead scientist for micro-computed tomography.

Neugier treibt mich an: Ich entwickle gerne Software, probiere neue Technologien aus und verbinde Wissenschaft mit Spielwitz – am liebsten dort, wo Pixel, Daten und Algorithmen aufeinander treffen. Sportlich bin ich im Judo aktiv: stellvertretender Spartenleiter mit Trainerschein C Breitensport.
Curiosity drives me: I enjoy writing software, trying out new technologies, and combining science with a sense of play – preferably wherever pixels, data and algorithms meet. In sports, I am active in judo: deputy section head with a C-level recreational coaching licence.

Diplomprüfung in Physik 2004 mit dem Gesamturteil „hervorragend" (1,0) – abgelegt vor Ablauf der Regelstudienzeit. Diplomarbeit (sehr gut): „Aufbau einer Delaystrecke für Femtosekundenlaserpulse und erste Pump-Probe-Messungen"; Nebenfach Geophysik (hervorragend).
Physics degree 2004 with the overall grade "mit Auszeichnung" (1.0) – completed within the regular study time. Thesis (very good): construction of a delay stage for femtosecond laser pulses and first pump-probe measurements; minor in geophysics (distinction).

Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter in der Sektion Biomedizinische Bildgebung der Klinik für Radiologie und Neuroradiologie, Campus Kiel, und am MOIN CC – dort verantwortlich für die IT und leitender Wissenschaftler für die Micro-Computertomographie. Schwerpunkte: Knochenmikrostruktur und Osteoporose mit hochauflösendem CT, quantitative Bildgebung und zunehmend KI-gestützte Analyse (u. a. Deep Learning für Fragilitätsmerkmale); zahlreiche Publikationen und internationale Kooperationen (u. a. AGES-Reykjavik-Studie).

Seit 2013 Fachkunde im Strahlenschutz (Fachkundegruppen R3/R4), seit 2015 bestellter Strahlenschutzbeauftragter für das präklinische CT (VivaCT80) am MOIN CC; seit 2022/23 von der Ärztlichen Stelle Schleswig-Holstein anerkannter und zertifizierter Medizinphysik-Experte für Röntgendiagnostik (Fachkunde nach § 47 StrlSchV, zuletzt bestätigt 2024) – mit medizinischer und technischer Fachkunde. An der Klinik für Radiologie und Neuroradiologie in Kiel verantwortlich für über 10 Angiografie-Systeme und CT-Scanner. Maßgeblich beteiligt am neuen Lungenkrebs-Screening-Antrag des UKSH Kiel – von der Antragsphase bis zur Durchführung.
Radiation protection expertise since 2013 (R3/R4) and appointed radiation safety officer for preclinical CT (VivaCT80) at MOIN CC since 2015; since 2022/23 certified Medical Physics Expert for X-ray diagnostics, recognised by the competent medical authority of Schleswig-Holstein (expertise under § 47 German Radiation Protection Ordinance, most recently confirmed 2024) – with both medical and technical expertise. At the Department of Radiology and Neuroradiology in Kiel, responsible for more than 10 angiography systems and CT scanners. Substantially involved in UKSH Kiel's new lung cancer screening programme – from the application phase through to implementation.
